India’s alkali chemicals production estimated at 5.7 mn tonnes in FY 2008
The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in its Annual Report estimates India’s production of alkali chemicals to have increased to 5.74 mn tonnes in FY 2008 from 4.79 mn tonnes in FY 2003 (FY: Financial Year). The production of soda ash, caustic soda and liquid chlorine in FY 2008 was 2.09, 2.18 and 1.48 mn tonnes respectively.
