Global cement production estimated at 2.6 billion tonnes in 2007, China accounts for 50% share
As per statistics provided by US Geological Survey, the global production of cement is estimated at 2.6 billion tonnes in 2007 – a growth of 4.3% from 2006 production volumes of 2.55 billion tonnes. The production share of the top ten countries, accounting for 74% of total production are as follows:
